Support
This Place Is Worth Sustaining
The Taylor-Grady House is a National Historic Landmark, a community gathering place, and the home of fourteen heritage programs built around belonging, craft, food, and story. None of that sustains itself.
The house is operated by a nonprofit foundation under a lease with Athens-Clarke County. There is no endowment. There is no permanent government funding. What keeps the porch open, the programs running, and the property cared for is the decision — made by individuals and organizations, year after year — that this place is worth sustaining.
If the Taylor-Grady House has meant something to you, or if you believe it should mean something to Athens for the next generation, your support is how that happens.
Give
A gift to the Taylor-Grady House goes directly to the work of keeping this property alive and its programs accessible. That means porch chairs and refreshments on Wednesdays. It means clay and fire for a pottery workshop. It means a microphone and a quiet room for an elder telling a story that no one else has recorded.
Every dollar matters here. We are a small organization doing careful, deliberate work, and we spend accordingly. A gift of any size makes a difference you can see the next time you walk through the gate.
Sponsor
Businesses and organizations that sponsor the Taylor-Grady House are not buying a logo on a banner. They are investing in the civic and cultural life of Athens — in heritage programming, community access, and the preservation of one of the most significant historic properties in the state.
Sponsorship can take many forms: underwriting a specific program, supporting a season of Porch Time, funding materials for a workshop series, or partnering on a community event. We will work with you to find the alignment between what your organization values and what the house needs.
If your business or organization is interested in sponsorship, we would welcome a conversation.
Naming Opportunities
If a particular program, pillar, or space on the property speaks to you — if you see your family’s values or your organization’s purpose reflected in the work happening here — we welcome a private conversation about naming. This is not a catalog. Every naming partnership is shaped by the relationship between the donor and the mission. Reach out and we will talk.
Leave a Legacy
The Taylor-Grady House has stood since 1844 because people in every generation decided it was worth saving. A planned gift — through a bequest, a charitable trust, or another estate planning vehicle — ensures that the house and its mission endure beyond any single season or campaign.
If you are considering including the Taylor-Grady House in your estate plans, we would be honored to talk with you about how your legacy can shape the future of this place.
